Music licence terms
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Music in the Vertale library is licensed for use in videos you make with the app. This page explains what you may and may not do, and what happens when a track leaves the library.
1. What you may use music for
- As background music in videos you edit and export from Vertale.
- Publishing those videos on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other social networks, including monetised channels.
- Tracks labelled “Commercial” may be used in product promotion and affiliate videos. Tracks labelled “Pro” need an active Pro plan when added to a project and when exported.
2. Music added to a project stays
When you use a track, the app stores a copy in the project folder with a licence record: track id, licence type, date added and scope of use. A track later leaving the library does not break your project.
Videos exported while the licence was valid remain cleared afterwards. The app checks the licence at export time and stores the result in the licence record.
3. Not allowed
- Extracting a track from a video to play, sell, share or use on its own.
- Using the music in another editing app or product.
- Registering a track, or a video of only music over still images, in a content identification system such as Content ID.
- Using the music in unlawful or hateful content, or in a way that suggests the artist endorses you.
4. Music you import
Music you import from your device is not part of our library. You are responsible for having the right to use it.
5. Copyright claims
If a video using library music receives a mistaken claim, send the project name and post link to hello@vertale.app. We send you the licence record and work with the rights holder to release the claim.
6. Artists
The library contains tracks we own or commission and tracks licensed from artists. Artists who want their music in the library can contact hello@vertale.app.
